Documentary produced for the Bobadela Romana Interpretative Center, Oliveira do Hospital.

For 19 minutes, the importance of the current village of Bobadela (Oliveira do Hospital) in Roman times is revealed: about 2,000 years ago it was a city, being then designated as splendidissima civitas. The narrative produced shows the main built remains of that past: from the monumental arch that rises in the central square of the village and that once corresponded to the main door to the Roman forum, to the unique amphitheatre that constitutes the best-preserved building of this type known in Roman Portugal. The film also seeks to frame this city within the framework of the Roman Empire and the set of novelties that characterize that time and which are at the origin of much of what continues to mark our days and our world. At the same time that it seeks to frame the Roman Bobadela in the territory where it was located, marked by gold exploitation, by the appearance of new crops, such as vine and olive trees, crossed by Roman roads that connected the main cities of that time and designed by political geography different from the current one. Briefly, the main features of the time that preceded the Roman are also revealed, where the tapirs of this municipality pontificate and that preceded it, where some notable pieces but also buildings from medieval times stand out, such as the church of S. Pedro de Lourosa. In this film, in addition to scientific dissemination, tourism in the territory and the historical heritage of the municipality of Oliveira do Hospital is added. This film was also designed for the school audience, helping to embody an Interpretive Center that also asserts itself as a piece of cultural equipment designed to be a fundamental part of local education policies.

Ao longo de 19 minutos revela-se a importância da atual aldeia de Bobadela (Oliveira do Hospital) em época romana: há cerca de 2.000 anos foi cidade, sendo então designada como splendidissima civitas. A narrativa produzida mostra os principais restos construídos desse passado: desde o monumental arco que se ergue na praça central da aldeia e que outrora correspondeu à porta principal de acesso ao fórum romano, ao singular anfiteatro que constitui o mais bem conservado edifício deste tipo conhecido no Portugal Romano.
No filme também se procura enquadrar esta cidade no quadro do Império Romano e do conjunto de novidades que caracterizam esse tempo e que estão na origem de muito daquilo que continua a marcar os nossos dias e o nosso mundo. Ao mesmo tempo que se procura enquadrar a Bobadela romana no território onde se situava, marcado pelas explorações de ouro, pelo aparecimento de novos cultivos, como o da vinha e da oliveira, cruzado por vias romanas que ligavam as principais cidades de então e desenhado por uma geografia política diferente da atual. De modo breve revelam-se ainda os principais traços do tempo que antecedeu o romano, onde pontificam as antas deste concelho, e que o precedeu, onde se destacam algumas notáveis peças mas também edifícios de época medieval, como a igreja de S. Pedro de Lourosa. À divulgação científica junta-se assim, neste filme, a promoção turística do território e do património histórico do concelho de Oliveira do Hospital. Este filme foi ainda pensado para o público escolar, ajudando a dar corpo a um Centro Interpretativo que se afirme também como um equipamento cultural pensado para se constituir como peça fundamental das políticas locais de educação.
